Champagne with the Queen
Don’t worry (talking to you, M&D), there have been no more 3AM nights on this trip. I have a reputation to uphold now that I’ve sipped champagne within the walls of the Buckingham Palace.
(Ok, if I am being honest this is my third time doing this - but that made for a less exciting setup).
One of my favorite things to recommend to people coming to London is the Semi-Private State Room Tour at Buckingham Palace. It is only offered at certain times throughout the year but, if it is available, it makes for the perfect (and unique!) start to your evening. Which is why I went back Sunday night.
All in all, it was wonderful - and someone even got engaged on the grand staircase!
After the tour I walked to a sushi spot called Dinings, sat next to a nice gentleman who is here working on a Christopher Nolan movie and ate way more than I should have (if you are nearby, go to this restaurant- it is amazing!).
Speaking of walking, both yesterday and Sunday I have walked more than 13 miles per day. (And now I am sitting, drinking a green tea and thinking about how much my feet hurt, haha.)
It has truly been an absolutely wild and wonderful time - which is why I started writing this post on Sunday night and I am just now sitting down to finish it- but I couldn’t have asked for a better long weekend in my favorite city.
I don’t want to waste a single second, so I will catch up on these past two days from the comfort of my Virgin Atlantic flight this afternoon.
For now, I am off to walk some more! Happy Tuesday!
