Brillant Barcelona

These three adventures below have quickly become some of my most recommended to friends and family - and they allowed me to fall in love with a city I had previously just enjoyed.

Brightside Tours - Foodie Ride Sidecar Tour

What could make exploring Barcelona on a sidecar more enjoyable? Adding stops at unmissable tapas spots along the route (where your guide is sure to recommend all of the local favorites).

I have always found myself, a once picky eater, gravitating towards food tours in cities known for their unique cuisine. However, BrightSide does this in a way that I now crave in other locations.

BrightSide combines history, culture, humor, wine and food all into one extraordinary evening. Between stops you see the city, with colorful commentary coming as your guide drives along. At each restaurant, your senses are overwhelmed with the many delicious offerings.

If you love food, culture and unique ways to tour around - this tour is unmissable.

Tast-LLR

I know what you are thinking: Another food recommendation? But trust me, if you are headed to Barcelona and looking something special, you must save a spot for Tast-Llr on your itinerary.

Tast-Llr is located in what appears to be an unassuming home in the Gothic Quarter of Barcelona. As soon as you ring the bell, you are greeted and shown to your seat.

What follows is an extraordinary array of fresh, local ingredients uniquely prepared into a delicious, and beautifully prepared, 8 course meal. Each dish is somehow more incredible than the next and, no matter how full you are, you will not want to stop enjoying this evening of culinary delight.

The best part - all of this is only 65Euros (*wine not included*).

Run and get there before Michelin does!

A Barcelona Day Trip - MontSerraT

I often refer to my time in Montserrat as my day above the clouds. I understand that this isn't always the view but, while we were visiting, the clouds flowed like water through the sky - covering everything below. It was breathtaking.

Once in Montserrat, you can take in the fantastic views, try local foods at a morning market or visit the monestary where where the famous Black Madonna is located.

Located only 45km from Barcelona, it is the perfect place for a quick day trip.

Make sure to arrive in time to hear the choir perform and enjoy the views from 4055 feet above the valley floor.
